Would a 20kg(44lb) anvil be heavy enough for a hobby blacksmith for making tools like punches chisels knife axe hammers? Obviously work would be slower than with a big anvil but at what point is there too little weight?

Salad after playing basketball for 3-4 hrs bad or good?

Frozen food safe after power outage?

We had a 30-hour power outage while I was out of town. By the time I came home, power had been on for a few days, so I had no way of knowing if the meats still had ice crystals and were therefore safe to keep. BUT the ice cubes in the bowl were still largely intact, i.e., they had not melted and re-frozen into one giant ice mass. What say you, Yahoo Answers experts? Is the food still safe??

Will I be able to feel my finger again?

Recently, I had an accident with the chisel, and I cut straight through my tendon and some nerves. It was on the middle part of my left index finger, and since I tore straight through my tendon, my finger is unable to bend. However, that can heal. I'm more worried about whether or not I'll be able to feel my finger again, because I currently can feel very little in the front part of my finger. Everytime I touch it, it feels a bit tingly, but I can't feel anything else. Will this heal over time?

Should I go or should I try to handle it myself?

I'm a 16 year old female who lost my father to Leukemia almost two years ago. Ever since then, I've been having noticeably different emotions. I get easily angered and cry over almost anything. I also recently lost literally all of my friends when they started to betray my trust. They also tormented me through cyberbullying and writing degrading things about me on the bathroom stalls. That seemed to make everything worse. I am also almost always alone, since my Mother has to work all hours of the day to support our family. So, with her being gone, I have no one to confide my problems to. I do see a counselor every two weeks, and I have requested to see her more, but she denies my requests. I also see a psychiatrist and am on 150 milligrams of Zoloft, which also does not seem to be working, and he too denies my request to try a different medicine or higher dosage. To make things worse, my only friend, who is also my boyfriend, is now thousands of miles away to visit his father, and does not wish to talk to me, much less listen to what I have to say. We have been dating and bestfriends for almost three years now, and I do believe my mental state has jeopardized us from becoming closer, and in fact, is most likely making me lose him. I feel helpless and hopeless, and sometimes I take my prescription pain pills from surgery to ease the pain and escape reality. I also try to over-dose on my Zoloft or Tylenol in order to maybe pass out, since I am unable to sleep at all anymore. Although I may have problems, I'm not stupid and I know what I'm doing is wrong and I do understand I need help desperately. I want to check myself into a mental hospital, but I don't want to leave my Mom behind and hurt her. She is taking the loss of my Dad pretty hard too. The hammer blows will loosen the debris and make it vibrate up a bit to ease pulling the lid. This is the only way to do it if the rascals at public works have sprayed road oil into the crack around the rim. Use a hook. Crowbars are dangerous.

Why won't my kitten leave me alone?!?

I know this sounds mean, but, it's the truth. I got a new kitten today and she is 8 weeks old. I named her Harlow and she is so sweet and adorable. It definitely didn't take long for her to adjust to me or her new enviornment, because she's into EVERYTHING and won't leave my side. My mom put food, water, a litterbox, toys, and a bed in a seperate bedroom because my bedroom door won't shut all the way and there's nowhere else for her to go where the older cats and dog won't torment her. But when I put her in there, all she did was meow until I let her out, and now she won't stop following me. Everytime I even leave to go to the bathroom, she cries and runs after me. Why won't she leave me alone and just go to sleep or something? D:

I think that she may have had feelings for you too, if it's that hard to give you up and that she is willing to fight for you. Retinal Detachment Surgery?

This is my second question on this subject and I am in my 5 th week after surgery, Buckle and oil. I have not had one day without pain since I had the surgery. From Migraines type headaches to horrible eye pain. The Doctors only add drops while the surface of my eye is scratched and wrinkled. They say the pressure is up and down. The drops are scratching the eye but yet give me nothing to help any of the pain at all.. I have been unable to go outside and cannot stand the sunlight or lights in my house.even after this time.. I want the doctors to take the oil and buckle out now but they insist on leaving it for 3 months. This pain is horrible and I would never have this surgery again. All I am able to do is sit or lay in my house in pain and be sad and depressed. I don't know of anyone who has had this much trouble or pain with this. I feel like it is some problem with the oil, maybe a reaction to it or something, I have tons of allergies and I cannot get the doctors to listen to me. When I have had to visit the surgeons it is a 3 hour ride and it is torture for me, it vibrates my head and makes me very sick, not to mention the sunlight. I hate having to make the trip for the 10 or 15 minute visits, it is such torment. I don't know how many options I have but I 'd like to know if anyone has endured this much pain with this surgery>

I have been watching the special feature Ancient Aliens in the History Channel and I've had some questions that might be bordering on wild speculation, but I don't really know through which venue I should voice them out so I decided to try Yahoo Answers. Anyway, I've always been amazed with the ancient super structures that have lasted through thousands of years located around the globe, I've always thought that the Earth had gone through a lot of tectonic transformations through the ages that involved earthquakes, tsunamis, and global-wide flooding (ala-2012 movie). With Mesopotamian civilization finding root in 3100 BC (according to Wikipedia) and paleontological evidence pointing to prehistoric life that included the observation of primate development, among other organisms evolving through the ages, could there have been civilizations that were peaking/or at their climax in terms of advancement in the sciences/technology between the prehistoric era and the earliest recorded history as represented by Mesopotamia? If indeed land masses/continents are susceptible to inundations given overwhelmingly powerful tremors (tsunamis) then certainly advanced civilizations prior to Mesopotamia would have been wiped out around the globe. The only evidences left would be the chiseled stones of superstructures, which of course would eventually be weathered anyway during millions or at least thousands of years. If paper was even developed to try and record modern history then, we all know paper doesn't last long, especially when wet and worn out through the ages and explorers of the ancient worlds tampering with them wouldn't have helped preserve the relics anyway. Also, if this "fictional" civilizations I had in mind were able to harness electricity and even develop their own information structure similar to the Internet, then obviously traces of the structures and facilities that were built then would be hard to find if indeed the Earth was flooded to oblivion. I actually thought of these because of the Atlantean myths that have always been a topic for the curious and speculative. How to erase something from your mind?

There's something that has happened to me recently were I thought I would be in trouble but everything turned out to be fine. Now I'm trying to forget what I did wrong because it is tormenting me. It's preventing me from being at peace. And its messing me up. I havent been eating as much, my stomach always feels funny, and I've been throwing up a little. Bearded dragon not eating?

My bearded dragon is 4 years old, and refuse to eat. He is losing weight. I feed him a mixture of grated carrots, pumpkin and a herb salad mix. He gets 2 crickets a day, which is all he eats. I also have a small bowl of dry food available at all times. He gets fresh food and water every day, but don't even wants to taste it. I already had him de wormed 3 times. The vet can not find anything wrong. he gets at least a hour of morning sun if the weather plays along. His cage is heated and on a thermostat. The warm spot is 32 degrees celsius and the cooler spot 25. He also gets uv drops once a week. Im in South Africa and it is the winter season at the moment. The seasons doesn't have a effect, cause he didn't eat in the summer as well. Please help

IMO you train on leash all commands and then you train off leash in an enclosed area. So a yard that is fenced would be a perfect place to start doing the commands off leash. You don't wan a dog park as its far too much room. Start small till the dog is reliable.

I have a friend who owns a goat and it has infected ball, so one night when I got drunk I grabbed a scalpel and a chisel and cut the ball off. Dog does not eat by his own?

I have a male Cocker spaniel, he is 1.4 years old. For first 6-8 month I feed him with my hands as everybody does. Then I started with keep food in bowl. He was eating from bowl but now he hasn't been eating properly for the past few weeks, he refuses to eat his normal food (pedigree) so we've been cooking eggs\cheese etc. Then after a while he doesn't eat himself unless we feed him by hands.  He doesn't seem to have the energy when he doesn’t have food. I have very, very bad anxiety over my appearance, I dont find myself an attractive person. I used to, but the anxiety got worse and has changed my total perception of myself. I am very paranoid that if i do something in life that is bad or i think is bad it is going to come back and haunt me and terrible things are going to happen, like i will get fat or ugly. Its terrible, i would LOVE to be a normal girl and just have fun in life like I used to be. The playing football won't counteract the weight session but it isn't a pure cardio workout, the catching and kicking and all the rest that leaves you sore the next day despite you seeming to be in phenomenal shape means that after your HELLA weight session you did not have a rest day which means your muscle growth is slowed. Not reversed, which seems to be your concern but slowed. Muscles need to rest at least 48 hours for optimal growth.

How to remove one brick from a wall?

Wait until they start knocking the wall down and take one after it's removed. To remove one from the middle of a wall without taking down the ones on top of it and around it would be a tough job. Siezed Wheel bearing on 1971 mustang?

The wheel bearing went out while i was in town and i had to drive it about 1-2 miles so i could park it in a safe spot so i could find a trailer and bring it home. Once i got it home i pulled the wheel and drum off and the wheel bearing was seized to the spindle so i took my grinder and grind each side of the wheel bearing and took a chisel and pop it off, so it wasn't welded to it but when i was looking at the spindle i could see that it grind some on the spindle and if i remember it wasn't smooth either, the drum isn't usable any more but is the spindle still good?

I've tried to smoke weed many times and in many ways, a bong, and bowl, a joint, an apple, a pop can, you name it i've probably tried it. However, everytime i smoke, no matter how much or how little, i get nauseous, paranoid, and get racing thoughts. My vision always goes in and out, and my ears ring so loud that i can't hear. I would describe it as having a panic attack. I have no idea why this happens. I've heard it can happen when your paranoid, but i've never been paranoid when i smoke, i always smoke with my mom and i know i'm not going to get into trouble so i don't know why this happens. I dress really badly I have no style whatsoever, I wear a lot of hoodies and rarely wear just t shirts even in summer.. My face is average in my opinion but some people say I'm rather handsome with great bone structure, (high cheekbones, chiseled jaw, straight nose, strong brow, large brown almond eyes.. Throbbing in the back of my head?

I tried doing the the rubbing exercise on my neck. it only eases the pain temporally and has a 3/10 success rate of actually working to ease the pain. The throbbing is directly in the the back of my head slightly aligned to the right of the spinal cord, and placed along the bone right by the visual cortex. I do not know what to do to get rid of this pain, pain killers do not always work, and even if they do I do not wish to rely on them daily. The pain is throbbing to my heartbeat, it feels as if every time my heart beats, someone brings a chisel down on my brain. It is affecting my job performance, and my school performance. Does any one have a way to get rid of this pain?

I am not sure why, but I have the same problem (I'm 26). I have lost 6 kgs (13.2 lbs) over the past 2 months, so I am currently 130 lbs, 5ft 7 and 1/2, but my face still isn't thin enough. My 3 year old GSD wont eat?

We bought a German Shepherd ***** about 6-7 weeks ago. The previous owner used to leave her food down all day and we realised this was why she was so underweight. We took her to Pets at Home and they put her on Wainwrights which is just brown kibble biscuits. At first she loved it but then after a few weeks hardly touched it. She'd spit it out and leave it. As a result and us not wanting her to lose the weight she's put on we tried mixing fresh tripe with it. Again, she loved it and cleared her bowl several times. However after a bit god bored of the tripe and wouldnt touch it. We then tried wet food mixed and as before, she loved it. We carried this on several times but then reealised she would only eat the wet food. Now she wont touch her food bowl unless there is a full pouch or full can of wet food in there. She will eat the odd biscuit. Yesterday we bought her a different make of food (Bakers Complete as it looks way more appetising) and she loved the first bowl we gave her. She couldn't get enough of it. But this morning i've found when i gave it her at her routine time (1pm) She wouldnt touch it and went to sleep instead. So again, i mixed half a pouch of wet food in and she ate a few biscuits and walked away. So i decided to put the full pouch of food in. She's eaten half of it and left it, so i've now put it away in the cupboard as she's had too long to eat it and if she doesn't eat her dinner within half an hour to an hour we take it away as we are trying to get her into a routine! please help!!!!!!

Sorry, but I don't think that this is very good. It seems like your trying to be poetic but your word choice seems abrupt, jaggedy and not flowing and your trying to be capturing pain but your not describing it properly. The last paragraph is the worst. Like your acting french but it is failing. And 'thee'? You haven't used any old english and then you suddenly write thee. You can't just write down a bunch of words and call it a poem.

Need opinions, im a 19 year old virgin?

Ok, so basically, Ive gone my entire life without ever kissing a girl. To be honest I don't desire sex that much, however it can be an important component in a relationship, and I feel that romance is a second language to me. I have very, very bad anxiety over my appearance, I dont find myself an attractive person. I used to, but the anxiety got worse and has changed my total perception of myself. I am very paranoid that if i do something in life that is bad or i think is bad it is going to come back and haunt me and terrible things are going to happen, like i will get fat or ugly. I've always not wanted to be like my parents. My mom has this care-free attitude and acts like important things in life are no big deal. She has 2 cats she doesn't take care of. How do I cut/sculpt lava rock for my tank?

Hello, I have a 5 gallon tank for my Betta. Inside is a lava rock with some plants on it. It fits in just fine but the tank is round so it looks a bit blown up and out of proportion, All I can see is this giant mountain of Rock in my container and its really starting to bug me. I need to take it out anyway to attach some java moss on, so I started to wonder, all those sculpted rocks in the store have tunnels or holes going through them, could I do it too? I need help getting over a plateau!?

so i started a losing weight the "healthy" way about 5 months ago and i was 140lbs. now i am at 123lbs and have tried every diet out there. my plateau used to be at 130 and i managed to get over it when i was going on a 1200 calorie diet. however, i do not go that low anymore as my metabolism slowed greatly. i have tried the gm diet, the skinny bit** diet, being anorexic, and am now on a zig zag diet where one day i will eat 1600 calories and the next two i will only eat 1200. it doesnt matter how much or how little i eat, i am always the same when the next week rolls around! i am currently lifting weights and playing volleyball twice a week and the other three days i walk about a mile. i am already quite muscular so i do not think i want anymore as i am trying to become a model. i eat healthy and whenever i have a treat i have a small bowl of frosted flakes because they are my favorite :) i only need to lose 5lbs and im in..but i really need help! i am completely against any eating disorders and still want to look healthy once i am finished. btw..i am 16 and 5'7

Look I'm really frustrated how cow cold,cruel,and unforgiving this world is.I'm an outcast and I came to accept the fact that people are right to be mean to me,but not all outcast are aware of this rule,and so they make mistakes.Especially when they're children.I went through this faze they were in.I thought that people who were causing conflicts against me needed to get hurt and women who werebeing sexy needed to get sexually assaulted.Don't worry I've grown out of this faze thank the Lord and it was just out of sheer dumb luck that I didn't get expelled from school or thrown in jail.Look I know that this senseless crime and violence can't be put up with so this is what you can do to allieviate it forever.School violence is caused by violent tv video games,lack of prayer in school,and bad parrenting.So why not send these outcasts youth to a place where they can learn in peace and not have to worry about getting bullied by the other classmates.See if you send them to a special place made just for them and have a gym for their P.E.That way they could be in the company of other outcast,and with no one there to provoke them to anger,frustration,or arousal they can learn in peace,and they could get their high school diploma and then go to college and not have to worry about getting beat up or expelled from school.The normal people can go to the regular school,and the outcast could go to these special establishments made just for them.Remember with no one to provoke them to anger,frustration or arousal,they won't commit any crimes and they can get an education sans having to worry about getting tormented by classmates and thus getting provoked to either attacking or threating them.Its perfect and with the good education they will receive they won't have the mental and emotional pain that comes from an unhappy childhood.School shootings and other senseless crime and violence would be unheard of.We could all feel safe.

I don't mean to beat on a dead horse, but I have yet to get an answer regarding my question on the Earth's soil layer history. I've always been amazed with the ancient super structures that have lasted through thousands of years located around the globe, I've always thought that the Earth had gone through a lot of tectonic transformations through the ages that involved earthquakes, tsunamis, global-wide flooding (ala-2012 movie), or even the cataclysmic effects brought on by asteroid collisions with the planet Earth. With Mesopotamian civilization finding root in 3100 BC (according to Wikipedia) and paleontological evidence pointing to prehistoric life that included the observation of primate development, among other organisms evolving through the ages, could there have been civilizations that were peaking/or at their climax in terms of advancement in the sciences/technology between the prehistoric era and the earliest recorded history as represented by Mesopotamia? The thing that really prompted me to ask this question was the idea that the development of modern technology has accelerated exponentially for the past 200 years. Now to think about whatever happened between 10,000 BC and 3,500 BC, that's about 6,500 years. Imagine, 200 years in 6,500 years. If indeed land masses/continents are susceptible to inundations given overwhelmingly powerful tremors (tsunamis) then it might be possible that advanced civilizations prior to Mesopotamia would have been wiped out around the globe at that period. The only evidences left would be the chiseled stones of superstructures, which of course would eventually be weathered away anyway by time, through at least thousands of years. Any form of database of all human knowledge would've have been stored in libraries (paper) or data banks (non-paper techniques), which could have all been wiped out and rendered useless for people looking to recover their lost civilizations. I wouldn't expect any single man or woman to have had a monopoly of all that could have been known/discovered, perhaps only a tinge of this and that, which could have allowed people to start-over with the basics in math, the sciences, technology, etc. This is also the reason why we are extremely amazed with the ingenuity of the ancient civilizations, in the construction of the structures and the technology that we think they had employed then. If paper was even developed to be used as a means to record all the knowledge of ancient inhabitants' modern history then, well we all know paper doesn't last long, especially when wet and worn out through the ages, so there would be barely a trace. To put it figuratively, it was as if the reset button had been pressed on human civilization. Furthermore, explorers of the ancient worlds tampering with these discoveries, assuming there were expeditions through 3,500 to 500 by ancient explorers, them tampering or "handling" evidences wouldn't have helped preserve the relics anyway. Also, if this "fictional" civilizations I had in mind were able to harness electricity and even develop their own information structure similar to the Internet, then obviously traces of the structures and facilities that were built then would be hard to find today if indeed the Earth was flooded or erased by some major catastrophic event to oblivion. Anyway, before the question gets out of hand and sound crazier (I know it already borders on ridiculous) I guess the most realistic question that might serve as the first step for this inquiry of mine is, "Are there pedological data that say otherwise?" and "Based on soil layers, can it be verifiable if the planet Earth had experienced massive flooding/inundations, heating, or any type of forceful deluge during a certain period of its 4.54 billion year history (according to Wiki)?" I'm guessing you are just now starting to work with chisels and I will advise you not to get a chisel that is a cheap one because it won't hold an edge. Get one or even a set made by Stanley Tool. They are not overly expensive but not trash either. Go to a place like the Home Depot or Lowe's or even a smaller Hardware store to buy them. I could tell you where to buy professional ones but those run into hundreds of dollars. Literally. You also should buy a good sharpening stone to keep your cutting edge as they dull fast. Also an inexpensive sharpening guide will help you if your not sure of the angle to sharpen them at. You just roll them on the stone with your chisel screwed into it. Very easy. If you are buying this as a gift please pass the real cheap ones up as they truly are trash and a waste of your money. And don't get them at a hobby store because you will pay twice the money than you should be paying for them. They have a huge mark up on them there. Have fun and please be careful not to cut your finger off. There is one good thing, they are so sharp you don't even feel it. Kind of not!

I had an accident involving a chisel in woodwork three days ago, and I got it stitched up. However, the tendon that helps the front part of my finger is torn, and I cannot bend the first part of my finger (It happened on my left index finger, middle part). I have very, very bad anxiety over my appearance, I dont find myself an attractive person. I used to, but the anxiety got worse and has changed my total perception of myself. I have a friend who is separated from her husband and is wanting to obtain a divorce from him. She lives in Alabama has a 2 year old daughter and is also fighting for full custody of the child. The man has physically abused her constantly in the past and tormented her daughter while they were together and she left him and went to Texas for a few months. She recently came back about a month ago because he called her wanting her back (which was a lie). He is wanting custody of the child, although he had nothing to do with her to begin with even while they were in Texas. He is a crack addict and in her terms deemed unfit to father her. He has tried several times to take away the child and they both have restraining orders against each other. She has the child on a safety plan through DHR and can't be with her unsupervised until she is deemed worthy as a parent by them (has a full time job and a home). She recently went to a consultation with a lawyer and he told her that it would be cheaper on her to get him to sit down and agree to a divorce settlement out of court but he will not do such for her. It is gonna take a lot of money that she does not have to take him to court and fight him for the divorce and custody of the child. The man is stubborn and she thinks he is out to make her life more complicated. She wants to get out of her marriage as quickly and easily as possible without having to pay so much money to do so.

Tree stump planter, please help?

Last summer we had a large maple cut down because it was diseased and decided to leave the stump, dig a basin in it, and use it as a planter. We started trying to saw, chisel, drill and ax the wood to create the basin but without much success because the wood is super hard. My husband does not want to use chemicals to soften the wood out of fear it will erode the stump. Why did I loose all my muscle after getting badly sunburnt?

New Goldfish? Help?!?

So a few days ago, i won a goldfish at a fair and i had it in a bowl (TEMPORARILY) and now i put him in a one gallon tank, with under gravel filtration and an air pump and air stone. I would say he has a pretty damn good set up. Im just wondering if everything is good, if he grows i will eventually upgrade him of course. Also, Im currently feeding him baby shrimp is that okay? How do I remove the factory rivets from the lower ball joint on my 1995 4x4 yukon?

I am trying to replace my ball joints on my 1995 yukon 4x4.I had enough access to drill and hammer the upper ones out but I didn't know if there is a trick to get the lower ones out. I am on jack stands and it is hard to maneuver any power tools. I ground the head off the bottoms of the rivets. I drilled 3/8 holes in each rivet 5/8 inch deep but they aren't budging even with a electric chisel under the head. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Help! I need a healthy eating routine?

Usually I only have big bowl of cereal with milk every morning, then i just have some juice for lunch, go out to eat with my friends at night (. I have school and work at the same time. I'm a pharmacy technician so it's stressful. I drink water most of the time when i feel hungry, because i'm too tired to eat. I'm 5'3 and weigh 107 lbs, but now only 104. and when I'm busy i just have one meal a day, and i get acid reflux. I usually have it, so I take medicine almost everyday. I have a high metabolism and I can't gain weight easily. It doesn't affect my skin, i have fair skin, but I keep losing weight!! Btw, I'm only 19, so i need a healthy eating routine please, I want to gain few more lbs. Thanks, i really appreciate it

How do you know that when that is false? This is why you don't listen to little rumors on the internet or by word of mouth. The reason why you don't eat a few hours before bed time is because of acid reflux which damages your vocal cords and your throat. You still burn calories and digest food while you sleep. Nothing 'shuts off' because you are asleep. If it did then you would have major health issues besides weight. Also fruit is one of the easiest things your body breaks down. You probably used up all the nutrients and calories already.

I go to school with this kid who used to be my friend. About 5 months ago he decided to stop being my friend because he thought I was gay. At first he just yelled "your gay" at me and that never really bothered me because it had no effect on my life. I thought it would just wear off until he started to become more aggressive. At that time I had 2 really nice friends who treated me well. They were the only kids who I actually considered true friends. One of them started to hang out with this kid and I slowly began to notice he was becoming more like him. Eventually my other friend became like him to. So there were now 3 kids who were calling me gay. And this is only the beginning. I was walking to class one day and I walked passed him and he yelled out "Look out its jack, cover your *** holes." I know it sounds funny but when its being said to you its not. So the friends of these 3 kids began to become like them. And so I now have at least 10 kids calling me gay. They all hang out together in a group and hate on me. Now the kid who started this all has no reason to hate me, I never did anything to him. He runs away from every time I am near him because he thinks i am going to rape him. I am not gay, I have told him that but he never stops. I know if i can some how convince him that im not gay all of the others will stop. But i know i am going to have a hard time doing this because everything I say to him he uses against me. He is a spoilt brat, he is beyond rich and is extremely selfish. He once brought $80 dollars to school and used it all at the canteen, throwing away half of what he bought.
