I don't want to turn out like my parents?

I've always not wanted to be like my parents. My mom has this care-free attitude and acts like important things in life are no big deal. She has 2 cats she doesn't take care of. I saw her cat Ringo pooping blood outside, her husband, my step dad feeds the cat two pieces of bologni a day which hurts his bowl movement, it probably hurts when he poops. They don't even clean the litterbox they just let poop and piss sit in there for more than a week, maybe two. And they brought home this kitten that is sweet and playful, but they have to understand to take care of it. Its got an extended potbelly and anus with something poking out signafying worms, but they never pay attention enough to get it de-wormed. its not that I don't love them, i just don't want to be like them. but im afraid that once i get older ill have that same attitude. because 99 out of 100 most people turn out like there parents, they influence them in everything.
